I’ve tried so many different things, how do I know this will help?"

Accepted Answer

Our clients have usually seen many doctors and health practitioners before, and have ended up frustrated by the lack of progress they have made.  The vast majority of doctors / health practitioners analyse the symptoms on display, maybe run a lab test or two, and provide a diagnosis. They then provide a natural or medical treatment for that diagnosis. 
 
As FDN practitioners, we look at the body in as broad a manner as possible, making no assumptions about the origins of the symptoms being experienced.  The complex cases we work on are always the result of a combination of upstream causal factors, some of which may seem completely unrelated to the symptoms. 
 
We conduct a full investigation into the hormone, immune, digestion and detoxification areas of the body, identifying as many healing opportunities as possible. These are the systems of the body that dictate how we fundamentally feel and operate as humans.  We accept that root causes may be multiple, and that each client has a different level of innate vitality. 
 
Taking this all-encompassing view and working at such a deep level, allows us to discover multiple areas of imbalance or dysfunction. We then work on everything simultaneously, bringing the body to a much greater overall level of function and vitality.

Question 2

Can I just get a blood test from my doctor and ask you to look at the results?

Accepted Answer

We are happy to review any tests you may have had in the past, as they may be helpful as part of our investigation.  There is a vast array of tests available, and the results you have may or may not be useful from a functional standpoint. 
 
Remember, we're not looking to provide you with another diagnosis. We work to review the body in as complete a way as we can to assess its fundamental workings, and identify all areas of concern. If we were to only look at certain systems of the body, we would do no better than the specialists you have already seen.

Why are the costs so high?

Functional lab tests are still a niche in the health and wellness industry, so the costs can seem high at first, depending on how familiar you are with this type of work. The return on investment for functional testing is excellent, due to the level of information gained by assessing the body in this way. We gain a clear health picture from running the foundational tests we recommend, and are subsequently in a position to support you on your very own unique path to health.
 
The coaching we provide is highly individualised, and very personal.  Direct support is provided at every step, and we only work with a small handful of clients at a time.  We don't do group coaching, so all support is provided 1-2-1.  We get to know our clients well and have made some good friends along the way.

Question 4

How quickly can I see improvements?

Accepted Answer

If our initial consultations reveal things we can immediately get to work on, improvements may begin to appear within a week or two. It depends on your personal circumstances. Many conditions we see are deeply rooted and can take several months to resolve. Remember, you didn't get to this point quickly - it was a gradual progression. Your  path out of it is likely to be similar.  
 
Functional testing takes a lot of the guesswork away, so we can cut to the chase and only implement healing modalities that have a high chance of working. We have all wasted far too much time on diets / habits / supplements / creams that gave mediocre results.

How long do the labs results take to come back?

Typically around 2-3 weeks. This depends on the lab, and the type of sample being analysed.

I live in [country X] can you still help me?

Accepted Answer

There are lab testing facilities in most parts of the world now, so it should be possible to work with you wherever you are.  Most of the tests we run now use stable, postable forms of sample (i.e. dried urine, dried blood). These samples don't need to reach the lab overnight and are also quite affordable to post overseas if necessary. Question 7

Will there be extra charges after the testing is done, or is it a one-off price?"

Accepted Answer

The package prices include the lab tests described and any accompanying coaching services. There may be additional minor postage costs for certain lab tests, depending on your location. 
 
Overall costs involved in your healing journey are broad and varied. There may be food supplement recommendations made, which need to be purchased. You may choose to purchase a juicer or blender as part of your healing protocol, or perhaps outdoor / sporting equipment.

Question 8

How long do I get your coaching / advice for if I go for the Full Investigation & Coaching package?

Accepted Answer

We build 3-month bespoke healing protocols and support full package clients closely throughout this period. You will receive all the support you need during this time, and experience has shown that you will likely not need much support after this. We are not rigid in our work though, and ultimately want to work with you until you get the results you desire.

If skin issues are your main complaint, you will find lots of help in The Eczema Healing Community.  This group may be skin-focused, but there is also lots of vitality-promoting advice in there for all your other health needs.

I don't want to do any lab testing, why can't you just tell me what to do?"

We worked a coaching-only (no lab tests) practice for 5 years and here are the headlines:
 
Hundreds of people were greatly helped through our coaching services. 
Many people, given enough time, can guess their way to a state of much-improved health.
Known stressors on the body can be identified and worked on effectively through consultation and coaching alone.
Hidden stressors, however, prevent most people from getting fully free without digging deeper with testing to identify the hidden areas of dysfunction/imbalance in the body. 
Trying multiple different healing modalities can be frustrating and time-consuming.
We are all human, but we are different enough that what worked for someone else is not likely to work for ourselves in exactly the same way.
