How it Works
Functional Diagnostic Nutrition® is a system used to investigate as deeply and comprehensively as possible into the underlying causal factors of disease. FDN practitioners use science-led, time-proven strategies to restore health, calling upon the tools of functional lab testing, lifestyle assessment and friendly coaching assistance to bring clients back to health.
Practitioners work closely with clients to break the cycle of trial and error, focussing on all aspects of life, not just symptoms and lab results. Some hidden stressors may seem unrelated to the symptoms being experienced, but are having a knock-on effect in the body. FDN practitioners can map out an individual path to health and give direction and support until results are achieved.
All assessment and lab work is done remotely, as samples are provided from home, and consultations are conducted via video link.

What are functional lab tests?

Using samples of blood, urine, stool, saliva or hair, functional lab testing aims to provide a holistic and practical viewpoint on the functions of the body. Areas of investigation include hormone production and distribution, immune function, digestion, detoxification, nutritional balance and more.

Obtaining this viewpoint allows the body to be assessed as a whole, so that areas of imbalance or dysfunction are treated in the most appropriate way. Non-functional testing run by most doctors tends to ‘zoom in’ on one organ or system in the body, in order to provide a specific diagnosis and provide a specific treatment.
